Structure by D-CRAIN Design and Construction Among the beautiful hills of West Lake Hills, the "Structure" by D-CRAIN Design and Construction has progressed from a typical backyard into an outdoor retreat that integrates form and function seamlessly. The work is over 3,500 square feet long, including the various elements finely designed to bring harmony to the natural landscape. Most notably, there is a beautiful stone patio made from locally sourced limestone that is durable and looks beautiful in the outdoor gathering space. On that stone patio, we made a series of raised garden beds out of reclaimed wood that is nicely crafted to add interest to the garden space, while providing an opportunity for sustainable gardening practices. To make sure all year round the outdoor sleep space can look beautiful, our team was able to incorporate native plants that include soft grasses, wildflowers, and drought tolerant shrubs that will thrive in the local climate, while encouraging beneficial pollinators. One of the first obstacles we faced was the slope of the yard and thinking how to create tiered levels to guard against erosion and make as much usable space as possible! We worked to combine the use of natural boulders and engineered retaining walls to help us transition between the areas of the landscape. We completed the landscape using a beautiful water feature that serves as an anchor point with a cascading waterfall and fish pond that invites tranquil into the space. The water feature adds a soft and relaxing sound to the outdoor living area, ideal for relaxing along or entertaining guests. Through the entire landscape process, we valued quality and craftsmanship. Because of that, D-CRAIN Design and Construction is proud to only use the highest quality materials and sustainable practices to design beautiful landscaping, which is friendly to the environment. The clients were sheer delight with the final product and we've created an outdoor retreat they can enjoy, that is truly a harmonious blend of beauty and utility.
