Summary: Classic and Refined by SURROUNDS Landscape Architecture + Construction Deep in the heart of Virginia's beautiful surroundings, our 'Classic and Refined' deployment is an excellent example of the artistry and craftsmanship SURROUNDS Landscape Architecture + Construction is known for. We work with a variety of communities; from the serene suburbs of Ashburn to the historical charm of Alexandria and everything in between, this exhibits a perfect balance of classic elegance and today’s functionality. The layout was thoughtfully designed and includes a beautiful selection of native plantings, a stone, hand-cut path, and an accommodating patio which serves as a lovely gathering venue for family and friends alike. Building with locally sourced and natural stone adds both beauty and longevity to the overall design and integrates well into the surroundings. A key challenge to this was the slope of the lot which resulted in creative and innovative designs for slightly different levels which add function and beauty. Our team created terraces which naturally promoted a lush herb garden, spectacular flower beds, and a serene water feature for relaxation. The end result was a stunning and functional outdoor space to continue entertaining and recreating, while enjoyable to look at from inside the house. The client was happy to see not only a functional and naturally sophisticated space, but their style carried through in the refined design that preserved their neighborhood's distinct charm.
