Summary: NC DIY Weekend Patio Michael Glassman & Associates recently completed the “NC DIY Weekend Patio .” We converted a standard back yard into a fabulous outdoor paradise that reflects the owner’s vision and tastes, adding to their lifestyle. We serve the Greater Sacramento area, including Antelope, Arden-Arcade, El Dorado County, etc. and approached the work with an emphasis on quality and detail in the finish. The biggest focal point was the attractive paver patio that was designed around using long lasting, environmentally safe products, that were used to combine the services of elegance and usefulness. We selected premium, interlocking pavers, made in a nice color combination, that produced an attractive surface mirroring the surrounding landscape. We incorporated built in seating in the patio, which uses a custom designed bench made of weather resistant products, to maximize the outdoor experience and give a place for relaxation and entertaining. One of the biggest hurdles we had to overcome, was the uneven terrain on the land base which required extensive grading and soil stabilization. Our experienced workmen had no great difficulty in working around this obstacle by using advanced landscaping techniques, giving a parcel of land whereon to build the patio, while preserving the natural beauty of the adjoining area. In addition a highly specialized drainage system was incorporated to deflect the flow of water, thus eliminating water accumulation, allowing for a longer lasting patio and preservation of the structure. The finished result is a beautiful outdoor area that has become a focal point of the home. The happiness of the customer can be taken from the fact that the was a success in the unification of the patio to the already existing gardens. These were enhanced by the introduction of select native plants and the introduction of low maintenance landscaping affects, which added to conservation measures. Inclusion of ambient lighting and decorative stone has made the patio usable as a gathering spot and a quiet area for evenings of relaxation watching stars at night.
