An emphasis on conservation encouraged the use of California native plants, such as lavender, succulents, and natural grasses, which regularly thrive in our climate, while benefiting beneficial wildlife as well. Certainly, a definitive and exciting feature of this was the constructing of a custom designed wooden patio covered with a canopy of reclaimed redwood. It completely transformed the look of the immediate surrounding environment, and served the useful purpose of giving shade and a place where family and friends could enjoy a relaxing environment. The use of natural stone paths through the gardens leads the viewer to points of special focus, as well, such as a very peaceful water feature which serves to heighten the sound experience in humbly observing nature.
