Contemporary Entertaining in Granite Bay In Granite Bay, Michael Glassman & Associates began a landscaping that dramatically changed their way of entertaining outdoors with our clients' vision of clean, modern, stylish outdoor entertaining space, where eye appeal and function are melded together. The design incorporated all-natural stone walkways, seating areas and greenery so that the outdoor living space both complemented the contemporary architecture of the home while at the same time retained a refined look. Building on the idea of using appropriate materials such as that of native granite and durable hardwoods, we also included the entertaining ideas of custom fire pits and water features imbued with cozy and inviting atmospherics, all centrally focusing guests into the space. Topography at the site was an issue that needed to be addressed, requiring grading for proper drainage and access, but there was also the added impact of a higher degree of innovative landscaping techniques needed to satisfactorily overcome many of the site conditions related to the same. The result is a space that is very pleasing in the concept of the botanicals used in the colors and of the style of hardscape used, giving pleasure to our clients and relief to their conventional entertaining needs and in effect, giving them the opportunity to engage in their own everyday memories made on their own terms and not tied to the hustle and bustle of the normal hustle and bustle of everyday life in providing a beautiful environment for entertaining friends and family in the future. This is a reflection of our commitment to quality craftsmanship and satisfaction to the final end in the greater Sacramento area, which includes both El Dorado and Placer counties.
