About This Project

Planted Retaining Wall by Hall Landscape Design Located in Napa Valley, Hall Landscape Design just finished a beautiful , a "Planted Retaining Wall". This truly combines the functional and aesthetic. Hall Landscape design serves American Canyon, Fairfield, Green Valley, Napa, Sonoma, Suisun City, Vallejo, Yountville, Petaluma, and Santa Rosa. We took great care in the construction of this feature for elevation and landscape improvement. The first step was a site analysis, where we noted that soil stability and drainage would also be an issues that we needed to address. Our designers selected attractive stone, purchased from a local stone supplier, to make the retaining wall beautiful and long-lasting, all while being mindful of surrounding landscape. The wall was engineered and created to take the seasonal rain into account to ensure that enough drainage was in place and no water would build up behind the wall. In an effort to beautify the wall area, we included a multitude of native plants as well flowers that attracted much-needed pollinators and were resilient, and low-maintenance. The addition of plants helped soften the hard look of the stone, and added color and life to the area. Once we began construction, we faced tight conditions - a steep slope and rocky soil - that resulted in some original engineering solutions and finishing work. When the neared completion, the planted retaining wall functioned as a beautiful and usable slope that transformed "dead space" into beautiful garden space for our client. In the end, the transformation was better than the client imagined. The created a welcoming space to be enjoyed for both entertaining guests and peace.
