About This Project

(3) Colonial by Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture, PLLC Situated in the center of Belle Meade, the (3) Colonial is the work of Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture, PLLC. This beautiful landscaping takes a large residential property and transforms it into a beautiful outdoor living space that embodies the timeless character of colonial architecture while integrating modern function. The features a carefully crafted plan showcasing a mix of native plantings along with ornamental trees and vibrant color in flower beds that provide seasonal interest over the course of the year. The quality of the materials used - including stone for the walkways and patio sourced locally - supports a natural aesthetic that is in line with the home’s classic face. We considered durability in the materials so that the landscape would be weather-proof and require less maintenance - something all discerning clients care . We faced the challenge of the slope of the property, we overcame this through grading and installing retaining walls to turn the garden into a multi-level journey. The landscape continues to function well with all of these elements while remaining attractive. The addition of a quaint pergola with climbing vines provides a wonderful shaded area to use for outdoor gatherings. The lighting we put in around the location highlights the architecture of the home and vegetation in the garden, adding to the experience at night. The end result is a beautiful outdoor space the enhances the curb appeal of the home and provides the owners a lovely escape. The client's excitement and satisfaction with our design and implementation got them exactly what they were hoping for, and more.
