Summary: Mountain Living Duke's Landscape Company is excited to announce our 'Mountain Living' , a thoughtfully designed landscape for the client set against the incredible backdrop of the Colorado foothills. Duke's Landscape Company serves the communities of Applewood, Arvada, Cherry Hills Village, Denver, East Pleasant View, Evergreen, Genesee, Golden, Idledale, West Pleasant View, and Westminster, and we were delighted to assist the homeowner in making their dream a reality. This extensive landscape boasts a design that blends native plants and sustainable materials, while crafting a true outdoor oasis reflective of mountain living. Our team utilized drought-resistant plant materials, which included colorful wildflowers and tough shrubs, as well as non-native plants that would create a beautiful garden space while using little, and sometimes no, water. Local granite was used to create stone pathways to escort a visitor through the property and connect the various design zones while providing access to those great views. One potential drawback of the property was the incline, which meant we needed to design tiered garden beds to not only add interest, but to help with soil stability. As a site under development, we implemented a positive drainage system to mitigate and manage rainwater so that we didn't experience erosion while still promoting a thriving environment for plant materials to grow. The focal point of the design is a fieldstone fire pit surrounded by natural boulders, a perfect focal point for family and friends to gather and enjoy starry evenings. We designed and constructed a rustic post and beam wooden pergola, adorned with climbing vines, to facilitate an additional outdoor dining space that blends into the environment. The 'Mountain Living' is a beautiful respite that captures the most serene aspects of the Rockies while enjoying the space for recreation or simply relaxing.
