We incorporated native plants while also including timeless plants all of which give the landscape seasonal color and texture. The pond features smooth, modern stone and a granite "dry creek bed", which allows for appropriate drainage while maintaining a modern and natural looking landscape. One of the challenges of the property was the elevation change and creating proper drainage around the pond. With our experience, we created a design with a series of drains allowing rainwater to flow steadily into the pond without disturbing the surroundings. This design solution solved potential flooding issues while also creating drama into the design elements. Overall, the transition of the two landscape gardens appears seamless which pleased the clients. The warm sitting area adjacent to the pond, modern boulders, and lighting made the a quality and outdoor experience and to use to build relationships and friendship.
