This was designed for a unique client, situated closely between the business parks of Eagle, Edwards, and Vail. We began the landscape design process by analyzing the site; many factors such as microclimates and soils helped determine how we interpret the overall space. Each of this elements in combination led toward a multi-faceted design approach including native species and plants with low-water requirements, to meet our commitment to sustainability while enhancing the environmental beauty of the space. The proprietary blend include ornamental grasses, flowering perennials, and shrubs that added seasonal interest and wildlife habitat. Given the site's unique elevation bands throughout the property, we decided on terracing to address topographic problem areas, usability, and some water runoff issues. We built beautiful natural stone retaining walls that are rustic and complimentary to the design of the property. Our goal with the was to use, whenever possible, sustainable practices such as the incorporation of a drip irrigation system into the design with low-water usage specifications while promoting healthy plant growth. The end result was a beautiful, cohesive landscape that invites further discovery and stimulation. Meandering paths created from gravel sourced locally lead visitors through creative garden beds that bloom 365. A seating area nestled comfortably within the backyard greenery provides a quiet space for reflection and comfort with sweeping mountain views. The client was thrilled with their new outdoor space and praised the innovative plant approach to the design form and functionality.
