Spanish Trail by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects Located in North Dallas, the 'Spanish Trail' accurately demonstrates the blend of art and function in landscape design. Harold Leidner Landscape Architects took on this with the intention of creating an expansive residential property that would serve as a tranquil outdoor living space inspired by Spanish colonial architecture. Featured is a winding path paved with beautifully detailed hand-laid terracotta tiles that lead visitors through gardens filled with native and drought tolerant plants. This selection of plants offers a mix of beauty and sustainability, which works well for the climate and the customer, who lives in Highland Park, Frisco, and areas of similar living. To address the varying elevations found within a landscape, our team creatively used natural stone retaining walls for elevation change but added rustic charm to the surroundings. We successfully used local limestone to build the walls for our landscape. With a constant eye on budget and anticipated completion date, we were very pleased with the outcome of all aspects related to the stone walls. A custom fountain that mimics water flowing from an outdoor courtyard of a Spanish villa is featured within this outdoor destination. The fountain, which is crafted from reclaimed materials, becomes a feature to draw you in and creates a serene space, whether entertaining friends or literally just for the couple's enjoyment in evenings. In conclusion, 'Spanish Trail' is a dramatic landscape that captures elements of Spanish heritage while adhering to practical functionality. Our customers were ecstatic their new look, the quality of craftsmanship, and overall attention to detail that Harold Leidner Landscape Architects achieved.
