Calabasas, CA | Moda Outdoor Living | Backyard, page 2 Located in the beautiful Calabasas, CA, this modem backyard transformation by Moda Outdoor Living provides a new perspective on living outdoors. A peaceful getaway that combines modern design with a touch of nature, designed around the client's requirements for entertainment and relaxation. This was particularly well planned, creating a custom built patio with quality porcelain tiles that copy natural stones. An outdoor kitchen fitted with stainless steel appliances and a bar height island make for the ideal venue for a family gathering or alfresco dining experience. To go along with the kitchen, we placed a lush, cut a lot of water landscape of native plant and decorative grass around the house which added color throughout the year. The original property had very challenging land, as the property was on a slope down to the lake. Our talented team remedied this by constructing a series of elegantly engineered retaining walls made of natural boulders, tiered so as to serve a diverse purpose without sacrificing beauty. It not only maximised the usable space but it also brought more dimension and narrative to the yard. In addition, we placed subtle landscape lighting throughout the garden to illuminate points of interest and provide magic after hours. A calming water feature, ingeniously incorporated into the design provides a soothing sound of flowing water which automatically brings a feeling to the backyard retreat. The end result delighted the client, who got what they wanted, a seamless balance of style, comfort, and functionality.
