The sloped terrain presented challenges that had to be resolved through thoughtful design in order to provide drainage while still maintaining as much usable space as possible. We built a tiered landscape with high-quality natural stone retaining walls that serve both functional and ornamental purposes. Permeable pavers made a stunning path in the front yard too, adding elegance but also allowing water to easily drainan eco-friendly benefit. An array of drought tolerant plants were specially chosen to create a colourful yet low maintenance garden that could be enjoyed all year round. A graceful fountain was added, both as a focal point and as a source of gentle water sounds that contributed to the atmosphere. It was just as impressive as the backyard transformation. A large patio space, complete with custom seating and an outdoor kitchen, was created for entertaining. Durability and comfort were ensured with high-end outdoor materials, such as weather-resistant composite decking, and an upscale fire pit. The lush lawn was replaced with local vegetation that supported biodiversity and used very little irrigation. Along the way, our team faced many challenges due to the high zoning standards, as well as the necessity of sustainably-designed features suitable for this unique building.
