About This Project

Needham residence by a blade of grass ( appeared in Schematic and conceptual stages) Part of the premiere s built by a Blade of Grass, this beauty represents union of nature and design located in the heart of Needham. We made the exterior as much a retreat, combining a functional space and a beautiful space together. Highlights of the Needham Residence include a bespoke stone path made from local bluestone to ensure the lasting aesthetic appeal and natural appearance retention of the stone. We planted a wide range of native shrubs and perennials around the path that add interest throughout all seasons and also support local biodiversity. Incorporating sustainable elements, like the reclaimed wood in our ecologically sound raised garden beds, caring for Mother Nature. Our biggest issue was that large parts of the area were sloped, and without an intervention, rainwater would flow down the hill, taking the top layer of soil with it. The terraced designed garden was carefully engineered by our team, integrated boulders surrounding the structure to build a natural look yet functional earthwork that provides both visual depth to the landscape and functional characteristics. The concluded with the installation of a soothing water feature that includes a custom-built pond that attracts native wildlife and creates a tranquil atmosphere. The tranquillity of water running, the sound of rock water flowing is a features of the landscape that invites relaxation and enhancing the quality of the space. The end product not only pleased the home owners but also received compliments from the neighbours regarding the way landscaping was well integrated. The Blade of Grass has always endeavored to listen to our clients' visions and make them a reality, through superior craft and inventive design.
