Scenic Terrace We at Terra Ferma Landscapes are excited to share the latest of our s, Scenic Terrace, which dramatically transformed our clients' backyard outdoor living experience in Burlingame, California. Scenic Terrace embodies nature and modern design, expanding the opportunity for functional outdoor living while incorporating some of the most beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. At the heart of Scenic Terrace, is an exterior multi-tiered terrace system built using premium natural stone, chosen for both durability and aesthetic beauty, evenly distributed across the tiers, with a palette of colorful plants, including native California plants, that are used for sustainable landscaping and attracting local wildlife. The existing crushed gravel pathways provide an easy way to walk through the outdoor landscape with visual interest and benefits from colors and textures. The property was steep, which was one of our main challenges. Because of the extreme slope on the property, we provided engineered solutions to ensure stability and safety. Our team built rustic retaining walls which performed as structural solutions but also added visual interest. We also incorporated drainage solutions that were strategically designed to limit erosion and ensure longevity. Our clients' favorite feature is the custom designed fire pit, located in an outdoor space filled with comfortable furniture for relaxing and gathering with friends in the evenings. This outdoor space was intentionally situated to take advantage of the amazing views of the surrounding area, providing the ultimate evening entertaining experience. Additionally, the garden lighting provided throughout the property enhanced the experience, especially when using planters near the pathways and designed features throughout the outdoor landscape, to ultimately highlight their beauty and provide illumination after sunset. Upon completion, Scenic Terrace shocked our clients to the extent they thanked us multiple times for their outdoor sanctuary, that enhances their property and reflects their lifestyle.
