Title: Firepit in the Woods | City Garden Company 02/09/2020 In the wooded quiet of Northeast Georgia, City Garden Company turned this long-neglected back corner of the client's property into a peaceful outdoor room: the "Firepit in the Woods" . Whether we nourish lands in Athens, Tucker, Sandy Springs or elsewhere this was no exception to bringing the splendor of nature to life. For our design, we incorporated natural stone into the overall design allowing us to create a naturally rustic yet elegant firepit ring with a circular seating place using local weather-resistant cedar wood. Additionally, we planted multiple native species such as ferns and wildflowers that blended in with the environmental surroundings while requiring low maintenance to beautify the site. We had to deal with the inconsistent land, as well, and the thick bushes making the area hard to see. As you can see, our small yet skilled team managed to make the area even and cleared out the dense shrubbery whilst keeping the native plants where they were and in the right place so as not to disrupt the natural look of the woods. We also did the drainage so the firepit wont collect water and can sit safely for years to come. The end product was a beautiful exterior retreat that our client loved. Ideal for gathering and relaxation, the firepit provides a warm glow underneath the dark, lush woods. This City Garden Company adds functionality to the area while creating a lovely space that invites the outdoors in.
