Tropical Oasis

Palmetto Interchange Tropical Oasis by Carolina Landscape, Inc. The Tropical Oasis is located in the lively Charleston, Folly Beach, and Isle of Palms communities and demonstrates Carolina Landscape, Inc.'s expertise in creating outdoor spaces that serve as peaceful retreats. The landscaping laid out across this large parcel was intentionally created to provide the extensive beauty of a tropical paradise, while being functional and sustainable. We selected a range of native plants that add colour to the landscape, including hibiscus, bird-of-paradise and tropical ferns, which help look good and truly flourish in the local environment, thanks to our team! We embedded boulders and river rocks from local quarries to give the water feature different heights, textures, and elevations providing a layered experience. This feature gives it a natural appearance while helping with drainage to cope with the heavy rains in the area. Another centerpiece of the home, the Tropical Oasis has an impressive custom-designed water feature with a waterfall spilling into a koi pond. Adding not only a center point but also a gentle wind chime sound keeping the overall ambience of this outdoor area. Although our craftsman encountered some challenges in achieving proper water flow and blending the two designs into the surrounding landscape, creative design and craftsmanship prevailed to return an unexpectedly exciting evolution of the original plan in the end. To improve user experience, we added a large deck of sustainably harvested Ipe wood, which looks great with the green scenery and is durable against patina. And enveloping the garden with ambient LED lighting set the scene for magical night gatherings, making the Tropical Oasis a year-round escape place for relaxation and socializing. We kept the client in the loop throughout the , tailoring designs to suit their tastes and help bring their vision to life. The end product is a stunning functional outdoor room that harmonizes form and function and leaves our clients excited to entertain family and friends in their new Tropical Oasis.
