Seaside Sustainability by Goldberg & Rodler, Inc. Goldberg & Rodler, Inc. is excited to present, "Seaside Sustainability," a transformative landscaping situated along the beautiful shores of Long Island. Serving the communities of Asharoken to Westbury, our professional team embraced the challenge of designing an organic landscape that would integrate seamlessly into the area's amazing coastal environment while increasing the physical use of the property. This utilized a variety of native plants based on their natural resiliency and low water usage to ensure sustainability and aesthetic beauty. We created a beautiful coastal garden that included beach grasses, perennials, and hardy shrubs that would help control erosion and create a habitat for local fauna. Permeable paving stones were created from reused materials to manage rainwater runoff, recharge groundwater, and eliminate runoff from the site. The installation challenged our group due to the sandy soil of the site and exposure to saltwater. We turned these challenges into an opportunity to show off our design techniques that would stabilize the plantings and create a successful ecosystem. To enhance the natural landscape, we created a beautiful wooden boardwalk with timber from a sustainably harvested timber, providing a relaxing pathway for clients and visitors. The addition of a small seating area with recycled materials invites relaxation and touring the landscape. The result is an aesthetically pleasing, sustainable seaside getaway that impresses both the clients and our commitment to quality and stewardship of the environment. The "Seaside Sustainability" highlights our skills of blending beauty while cultivating environmental integrity so it is sustainable for the property and surrounding community of Long Island.
