A website for groups to begin the work of creating new gardens (Spheres, Patterns & Surprises in the Garden) This , completed by Bethesda Garden Design LLC, is an example of the creativity and craftsmanship that are hallmarks of the work we do. Located in the heart of Bethesda, this landscaping was all creating a transformative space that felt complimentary to the overall architecture, yet brought a sense of graceful whimsy. While designing we focused on adding spherical designs and repeating patterns both to create visual intrigue and to help integrate into the natural beauty of the garden. The experience continues throughout the with decorative spheres, placed precisely, made of weather resistant materials, a number of these bringing interest to the landscape. These spheres are additionally enhanced by a series of geometircal flower beds and geometrical footways, beautiful laid on locally harvested stone which adds both texture and order to the space. The site itself was not without its challenges, most distinctly the differing levels within the topography throughout the site. We faced such problems with creativity; for example, tiered planting beds allowed us to deal with water table and highlight using different colors of plants, seasonal and structural (annuals, perennials,). Such careful layering yields a lively visual experience that makes the garden interesting in every season. Our local, sustainable solution uses native plants that are well-adapted to the local climate and need minimal maintenance. The end result is an easy-care garden that flowers profusely, attracts pollinators and serves as a sanctuary for the homeowners and their guests. Upon completion, it was clear our clients were excited it. They said they loved how the art and nature flowed seamlessly into one another, and how every nook and cranny of the garden reveals a surprise. Not only does this beautify their property, but it also provides a personal place to experience nature in their own yard.
