PFI - Plant Fantasies, Inc.Just off of 250 Hudson Street, PFI - Plant Fantasies, Inc. turned a local landscape into a graceful oasis where nature intertwined seamlessly within an elegant design. Covering all of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, the Bronx, and surrounding areas, PFI had their work cut for them at a job site with limited space and a lot of moving parts. It provided an in-depth combination of natural landscaping, materials, and hardscape with both aesthetic and functional appeal. Annual blooms include bright, well-chosen perennials, ornamental grasses, and flowering shrubs, to create bright, individualized color year-round and to make gardens a biodiversity hotspot. As part of our sustainability efforts, PFI used permeable paving stones that allows water to drain through, which keeps runoff low and promotes a healthy environment. Among the most complex problems was the requirement that informally captured seating areas be integrated without sacrificing the accessibility of the primary space. Our team cleverly crafted built-in benches out of reclaimed wood for comfortable and discreet seating integrated into the landscape. Low-voltage LED lighting was installed to backlight plant architecture and light pathways, providing an invitation for visitors to stroll in the darkened hours of the evening. The end result was a jaw dropping flip transforming the home and the confidence in the customer was beauitfully restored. This was a city based where use of greenery and hardscape elements together made this retreat welcoming in the city space around. The professionalism and workmanship that PFI offers resulted in 250 Hudson Street remaining a true testament to PFI's commitment of executing exceptional landscapes.
