55 Thompson Street PFI Plan Fantasies, Inc. is proud to be bringing greenery to our cityscapes, one at a time, and the plan 55 Thompson Street is no exception. Covering all of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island City, Bronx, and the areas around us, we approached this in a way that we envisioned serenity in the city. A beautiful combination of native plants interspersed with some tasteful hardscaping. We thoughtfully chose drought-tolerant perennials and ornamental grasses to achieve the right aesthetically pleasing look at ALL times of the year, without consuming huge amounts of water. At the heart of the landscape is a magnificent flagstone path native to the area that meanders through the plantings, taking visitors on a journey of sensory textures and colors. Finding enough space was also a major trial as well as the uneven level of the ground on site. Five acres were not enough so our talented landscape architects dreamed up a teired planting method, using raised beds and retaining walls to give depth and intrigue. Not only was this more visually pleasing, the drainage and soil would also be better because of it making the plants healthier and more likely to thrive over many years. The eventual outcome is undeniably an awe-inspiring city hideaway where nature coalesces with the built fabric of the neighbourhood. Our clients were over the moon with their updated design, noting how much they appreciated our eye for detail, and how we pulled colours to achieve a space that encourages rest and revitalisation.
