Private Residence E 66th St At PFI Plant Fantasies, Inc., we pride ourselves on bringing the outdoors in and turning urban landscapes into calm green oases. This recent job we did on E 66th St embodies our passion for the quality and creativity of landscaping. This was a private residence with its challenges: space was at a premium, especially considering that this building was located in a busy neighborhood in Manhattan where the residents wanted privacy from both their neighbors as well as the public. To overcome these we created a green vertical garden that effectively utilized the space while providing a beautiful visual buffer. We built with high-quality sustainable materials such as responsibly harvested hardwood raised planters and rust-resistant and weather-savvy steel trellises to promote durability and beauty. A blend of ornamental grasses, flowering perennials, and climbing vines were chosen to provide colorful site without sacrificing the overall composition of the landscape providing interest no matter the season. A beautiful feature in this is that the pathway is also made of bluestone and is not just a simple path but a stone pathway sourced within the boundaries of the home and invites you to enter the destination; the garden. We then added some strategic lighting that lit up the garden beautifully during the night creating a calming ambiance as well as adding to the beauty of the garden. Our worksite was clean and orderly, which is no small task in a dense population area, but our crew was sure to triple-keep the surrounding community as minimally impacted as possible. It is all part of the final producta gloriously manicured paradise that is not only worth the maximum in property value, but also a tranquil space where the homeowners can escape.
