505 West 37th Today, PFI Plant Fantasies, Inc. Plant Fantasies, Inc. - Inc. 11645 - Transforming boring urban spaces into lush green oases. At 505 West 37th, we're able to show the breadth of our landscape systems the various ways we'd go developing landscaping on any given in order to do better for our quality and innovation. Near a busy intersection in the heart of Manhattan, this consisted of a complete redesign of a small court yard that had its challenges based on the limitations of space and access from the surrounding buildings. We blended native with modern, carefully curating a palette of plants and hardscape materials to bring warmth and hospitality. We included elegant bluestone paths that link all areas and have sustainable drainage systems to appropriately handle rain. Custom-built planters made from reclaimed wood added to the beauty and demonstrated our commitment to sustainability. One of the biggest hurdles we encountered was How Would We Go With The Plants That Were Selected Strong In The Shade At The Side Of The Buildings. The horticulturalists knew well the shade-tolerant species as perennial ferns and hostas that flourish within tree canopy yet provide rich texture and depth to the landscape. The end result was a peaceful retreat that the client was overjoyed with, fulfilling high functionality alongside aesthetic appeal. The completed 505 West 37th showcases both PFI's layout and design strategies, woven through every aspect of its work from the seasonal flowers that pop out the window to the quiet gathering spaces meant to be daydreamed in. Not only has this transformed the property, it has also transformed the urban environment, creating an oasis for residents and visitors.
