About This Project

Redmond Landscape by Kate Martin Design Located in the bustling community of Redmond, Washington, this embodies Kate Martin Design's desire to bring exterior spaces to life. Serving the entire Metro Seattle Area, we embraced a process that extracted art while merging functional with natural. As part of the landscape design, we featured a striking assortment of native plants, characterized not only by their characteristics but their significance of year-round appeal in all seasons within the Pacific Northwest. Our design developed a pathway of natural flagstone, presenting an artistic movement through luscious gardens of colorful flowering plants and ornamental grasses. This careful selection illustrates our subjective approach while encompassing purpose and local biodiversity. One of the challenges of the site, but with available stratigraphy, included the site's variance in topography but we utilized creative grading designs with tiered garden beds that both fit the space while also creating depth. To discuss other concerns related to the drainage system previously in place, we developed a rain garden out of sight but easy in access and ability to drain naturally. Ultimately, the result is a seamless outdoor escape that the client continues to express high satisfaction with as a space that brings function, beauty and maintains both indoor and outdoor spaces. Elements of cozy seating in the beds invite quiet moments of appreciation while the lights provide a multidimensional experience through all seasons. (The) Redmond Landscape (is) a well-defined place not only for a yard but a well-conceived outdoor environment for year-round enhancement of the client's life. This reflects Kate Martin Design's quality and attention to that client satisfaction stands as an enduring (enduring) testament.
