Summary: Gilmartin Estate by Pedersen Associates Located in beautiful Marin County, the Gilmartin Estate is a fantastic showcase for the creative talent of Pedersen Associates. Serving the lovely California coastline from Belvedere to Stinson Beach, the team created a large property that connects nature to luxury in a garden fitting for an estate. The core of the involved designing a multi-layered garden of lush native plantings that would provide continuous color and texture throughout the seasons. Pedersen Associates design and build team utilized locally sourced stone, along with reclaimed wood, to create distinct ornamental pathways and elegant retaining walls that will weather well through time. One of the main challenges of this estate was the slope of the subject property, which required different drainage features to manage water and prevent erosion. Pedersen's talented team installed a relatively simple mode of dry wells and bioswales which provided multiple benefits in terms of function, treatment, and preservation of natural features. The result is a striking outdoor escape that features an impressive koi pond, a sunny terrace for entertaining, and lovely garden spaces for exploring. The thoughtful inclusion of benches, seating areas, and a fire pit add charm and warmth to a lovely gathering space and the plants were selected specifically to promote native and local biodiversity. Gilmartin Estate is a beautiful reflection of the commitment to quality and creativity that Pedersen Associates brings to each .
