About This Project

Spring 2015 by Magee Design Spring of 2015 entailed an exciting landscaping endeavor for Magee Design as we undertook a residential property in the heart of Aldie, Virginia. Our goal was to create a lovely outdoor living area that interlaced the visual beauty of a well-planned garden with the use of the space for rest and relaxation, as per the client’s interest in an outdoor oasis amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The landscaping included a beautiful patio, built with natural stone, that served as the feature for family gatherings. This was surrounded by a mixture of native plants, such as ornamental grasses and perennial blooms that could flourish in the local climate while providing seasonal change and year-round interest. A newly paved path of reclaimed bricks invited guests into the garden and enhanced the peacefulness of experience. Another challenge of the property was its slope. Our talented team professionally graded the land to ensure that we could properly drain any water without pooling on the new transplantings. We also installed an irrigation system that would minimize water use while maintaining the plants' growth throughout the seasons. The was an overall success with a landscape that left the client excited, incorporated all of the homeowner's goals, while balancing hardscape and softscape elements to provide utility and visual appeal. The outdoor living area worked in harmony with the environment for family gatherings, while also providing quiet times of view and solace. Magee Design's commitment to craftsmanship and quality with attention to detail led to a landscape plan that not only fit the client's interests but also added value as an artistic enhancement as any natural beauty should have in Aldie and surrounding landscapes.
