Mountain Lodge by Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. Located amongst the pristine countryside of Westchester county, the , 'Mountain Lodge,' reflects the passion and careful craftsmanship that comes with Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. This was a large residential landscape renovation meant to connect clients and the natural beauty of their surroundings in Chappaqua, Katonah, and Rye. We faced the challenge of the rugged, mountainous terrain while constructing elegant outdoor spaces. Native stone boulders and dry stack walls were implemented to provide structural integrity and a rustic aesthetic, similar to that of a mountain lodge. Next, we created a beautiful, multi-tiered bluestone patio using locally sourced rock to create a welcoming space for families to gather and entertain. The also incorporated a custom built fire pit with native plantings that offer seasonal color and texture. Our landscape architects staff selected the right plants: evergreens and perennials, to ensure year-round color, texture and biodiversity. The installation process was streamlined to coordinate with the site’s slopes and drainage patterns, making sure to direct any water away from the lodge. Our team of skilled tradespeople overcame the challenges of rock, soil and degree of slope, while being successful creating a cohesive outdoor space, nested into the natural landscape. The end result of the Mountain Lodge is a stunning landscape that connects the existing beauty of the property to functional outdoor spaces for relaxation and entertainment. The happy clients, now enjoy a beautiful connected environment that reflects their lifestyle, and the natural beauty of Westchester County.
