Post Construction Restoration by Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. Located in Westchester County, Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. completed the 'Post Construction Restoration' to convert a newly built property into a natural, inviting exterior space. With diverse clientele throughout Armonk, Chappaqua, and Rye, we overcame the issues associated with demolition and construction leftover debris, compacted soil, and little to no plant life, all with minor devastation to the existing environment. After closely observing the site, we took a methodical approach to modify and enrich the landscape. We relied on build quality, durable accident materials, including native planting materials that thrive and promote biodiversity in the local climate. The native planting provided an abundance of color through perennials and ornamental grass and carefully placed trees that offered climate relief and aesthetic value. We provided permeable pavers for walkways to facilitate water flow and slow erosion but remain inviting to visitors. One of the tasks we successfully accomplished against all odds was working with severely uneven topography and poor soil conditions. We were able to restore and regenerate the topsoil through minimal grading and introduction of organic compost so that our plants would flourish long after our labor was complete. Our team also customized an irrigation system that was developed specifically for the particular plant types we were installing. In the end, our had transitioned an inhospitable property into an island of color that met and exceeded the client's expectation and which made an inhospitable yard a colorful retreat complete with layered plant volumes, inviting planting beds, and calming seating for restoration. We heard from the client later that the restoration met their intention to create a peaceful environment with their reflected vision.
