Wall Garden by Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. Located in the wonderful neighborhood of Westchester County, the Wall Garden , completed by Pierce Hill Design, Ltd., is a beautiful example of an innovative landscape design idea. It successfully transformed a former, unsafe space into a stunning vertical garden that weaves together beautiful greenery plants with the architectural elements of the home. The wall garden features an intentional selection of native plants, such as vibrant ferns, drooping vines, and a colorful variety of perennial plants that work well in the local climate. Choosing durable materials meant our team used natural stone for the base and long-lasting weather-resistant trellises for the vertical walls which minimizes maintenance due to their durability. The vertical installation adds a nice touch of beauty above the very functional aspect of also supporting local biodiversity by attracting local pollinators. An early-stage challenge of this was engineering a design for the uneven ground. Our team thoughtfully had to figure out how to incorporate the slope through a tiered design that allows for plant usable accessibility, beauty in sizing, and good drainage which are all added coordinated functions generated through our design skillsets. The end result surpassed the client’s expectations and offers a peaceful reading nook and beautiful entertaining space- giving the client a private oasis experience. The wall garden has a wonderful expression of living art that demonstrates the workmanship values provided through Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. It is equally a true reflection of our passion to be part of enhancing the natural beauty of the areas we serve including Amawalk, Armonk and beyond. The happy client now enjoys a year-around display of color and tranquility which has allowed Pierce Hill Design, Ltd. to continue to establish our recognition as leaders in bespoke landscape solutions.
