Poolside Lounge by Hess Landscape Architects Projet 'Poolside Lounge' by Hess Landscape Architects has transformed this typical backyard, located in the center of Lansdale, into a tranquil oasis with a complete landscape design that incorporates both beauty and function - a place to unwind and entertain. The design utilizes a gorgeous natural stone patio made from locally sourced bluestone, and has been designed to be durable and visually appealing. In and around the pool, lush, drought-tolerant plantings including tropical palms and lavender contrast nicely with the aqua-blue water on a hot summer day. Soft LED lighting has been installed throughout the landscape creating a glowing effect on our walkways while also highlighting our featured plantings, allowing our client and guests to enjoy evenings at their pool. One of the greatest challenges was successfully linking the lounge with the existing landscape features. Our team did a great job with the grading and drainage to achieve the proper slope while keeping the existing drainage pattern intact. The proper grading solved the water runoff management problems while also creating visual interest with sloped surfaces. We also utilized custom built cedar loungers under a pergola for shade from the sun when needed, bringing the whole together through relaxation and function, ultimately allowing our client to relax in style or host their friends and family. The final treatment delighted our client. In describing the transformation, the client disclosed that the “Poolside Lounge” has become "my escape". Not only did Hess Landscape Architects provide a quality detailed installation, the design created an incredible outdoor living area that enhances property values and the livability of this beautiful outdoor space for their enjoyment for years to come.
