Located in the heart of Chappaqua, this speaks to the high standards we set for ourselves in quality and design excellence for clients throughout Westchester County and beyond. Through consultation, we recognized an opportunity for a cohesive landscape design that complemented an already modern upscale residence and provided functional outdoor living spaces. We carefully designed a welcoming front entry with aesthetic stone walkways made using bluestone which was quarried within 40 miles of the site. We made sure to consider functional design so that the new pathways would extend to the home and utilize space in a way that was inviting and added curb appeal. The bluestone paths are also durable and will require little upkeep for many years. The rear yard was designed as a tranquil retreat with a beautiful multi-tiered deck made of sustainably sourced Ipe wood which has a warm and natural feel. Design elements include a custom fire pit with seating arrangements, creating a place for family and friends to gather. The lush planting surrounding the deck where native plants and ornamental shrubs were combined with a considered palette of seasonal color based on scientifically researched plants that flourish throughout the beautiful local climate of the Hudson Valley; all to provide stunning year-round interest for the clients. One of our particular challenges was managing the sloped terrain of the property in a way that created flat outdoor "zones" in the rear of the property. Our highly specialized team used alternative grading solutions to achieve a flat area across varying elevations. We used every opportunity to install a drainage system that mitigates excess surface water runoff and will improve the longevity of the landscaping and reduce erosion. Ultimately, we accomplished a beautiful outdoor oasis that satisfied the clients' initial vision and expectations.
