Located in the beautiful Aptos area, this strived to improve outdoor living while mitigating important soil erosion issues on the property. To create a beautiful and functional outdoor space, our team effectively constructed a beautifully crafted retaining wall from durable, natural stone, sourced from within our community. The wall provided necessary support on the sloped terrain and contributed rustic appeal that allowed it to fit within the landscape. Its unique design used stone both in varied heights and a curve as to enhance its stability and appeal, while allowing water drainage. Next to the retaining wall, we created a large patio made of quality weather resistant pavers and a slip resistant surface that can be used for other family gatherings and outdoor entertaining. Again, the location of the patio was intentionally laid out so to take advantage of the beautiful views of the Aptos Hills. As we progressed in this area, drainage was a particular concern to mitigate future erosion that residents typically experience in the area. Our staff construction crew developed an overall drainage system to move the water away from the wall reducing the concern of future erosion and other issues for the landscape for a number of years into the future. When complete, the end result was a beautiful integrated space that exceeded our expectations for our clients. Overall, K & D Landscaping, Inc. was able to achieve both what our client envisioned but also not only ameliorated the previously dangerous erosion but transformed it into an inviting, enjoyable space for relaxation and friendship.
