Award Winning Turf Haven Home K & D Landscaping, Inc. is pleased to present 'Award Winning Turf Haven Home,' an outstanding landscaping that will change outdoor living as we know it! Located in the heart of Santa Cruz County and servicing a broad area encompassing Aptos, Capitola, and Carmel Valley, we were excited to tackle the of converting a spacious residential site into a lush, eco-friendly paradise. This featured a large turf area that we installed with high-end, drought-resistant sod, which will remain a vibrant shade of green all year. To enhance the beauty, we added a well-designed flower bed planted with native plants and resilient species that thrive in the local region. The flower beds bring added beauty while also supporting the local wildlife, including birds and butterflies. One of our challenges was the large area of uneven terrain found throughout the property. Our skilled tradesmen exercised their experience and applied innovative grading techniques to manage proper drainages and prevent water from pooling in any unsure areas. We included high-quality permeable paving stones for walkways, which allowed for ease of mobility, while simultaneously preserving the continuity of nature. Continuing our sustainable architectural theme, we created a beautiful stone fire pit and constructed a pergola that serves as shade and a central meeting place. Thoughtfully placed outdoor lighting focuses on the features in the architecture, stone fire pit, and lush foliage while creating an enchanting atmosphere for enjoying the evenings. In the end, the client and K & D Landscaping, Inc. created a functional and peaceful outdoor space that exceeded our client's vision. The 'Award Winning Turf Haven Home' not only won awards from our peers for the design, it also became a much-visited sanctuary for family and friends.
