About This Project

Sunset Residence - Edmonds, WA Studio 342 Landscape Architecture is excited to present the ‘Sunset Residence’ in the beautiful town of Edmonds, WA. This landscaping design exemplifies a successful marriage of nature and design while accommodating our client's unique needs, all while enhancing the natural beauty of their property. The began with a full site analysis, during which we identified important ways to improve the current functionality and aesthetics of the site. With the existing slope of the site, we decided to craft tiered gardens utilizing river rock and thoughtfully sourced timber from a local source. This not only resolved concerns erosion but enhanced the beauty of the landscape in a practical way. We included an array of native plants, including tough ferns, colorful perennial flowers, and ornamental grasses suitable for a Pacific Northwest climate. All the plants were selected and placed in a manner that ensured year-round interest, from the spring blooms to the beautiful autumn-like colors. A stone pathway leads through the gardens, providing a way to navigate while also keeping the natural feel of the landscape. At the base of the home, we developed a large paver patio that is a perfect outdoor space for gatherings and sunset viewing. A modern style firepit surrounded by natural boulders creates a strong gathering point and outdoor lighting accentuates the landscape in the evening. The commitment to a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the process ensured that all elements were executed with precision. Ultimately the end product met all the elements our client envisioned, and fulfilled expectations for a tranquil retreat that situated perfectly within the spectacular Edmonds landscape. The Sunset Residence serves as an example of Studio 342's commitment to creating sustainable landscapes that are both functional and aesthetics, which keep our clients and the community satisfied and excited!
