About This Project

Aspen Residence - Tulalip, WA Located in the beautiful Tulalip, WA, the Aspen Residence was completed by Studio 342 Landscape Architecture to unite the natural landscape with a contemporary built space. As a comprehensive landscaping design effort, we created a wonderful outdoor experience that incorporates both function and beauty. The included a variety of landscaping elements, including a custom-designed native plant garden which enhances the natural landscape and supports wildlife. Rich, hand-selected basalt stone pathways funneled visitors through the gardens, eliciting an urge to wander, explore, and experience. In all areas of the , we focused on sustainable material choices, such as locally sourced wood for the raised garden beds and permeable pavers. The slope presented some challenges in terms of drainage and stability. Our design team came up with several innovative terraced planting beds that addressed erosion while also providing layers and depth in the landscape. A custom irrigation system was also implemented to add sustainability to his landscape and keep it lush. The outcome is a stunning landscape that enhances and blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The clients loved having the water feature-centric space, as they were offered great sounds of moving water. Because of the outdoor living spaces, complete with custom seating areas, the clients can have gatherings and memories with family. Studio 342 Landscape Architecture is proud of quality craftsmanship and creative design.
