The '491 House' in Renton, WA demonstrates our pride in providing high-quality, innovative landscape design. This brings unique issues, such as a moderately steep slope to the yard as well as a desire for an integrated outdoor living space alongside the architecture of the house itself. These issues were deliberated, discussed and addressed through advanced planning and the confidence of implementing retaining wall made of natural stone which not only gives structural integrity to the outdoor environment but also adds beauty to the overall sectional space. We carefully considered plant selection, choosing an assortment of native plant materials that can thrive in the Pacific Northwest climate towards allowing aesthetics of beauty and structure year-round while enhancing the muscles of the local ecosystem's biodiversity. The landscape design includes a pathway for all-weather use made of pavers placed to allow for the capture and slow discharge of rain through the permeable paver system. This practice is one example of our commitment to sustainable landscape practice. The includes a custom built fire pit area with comfortable seating and landscape lighting. This outdoor living space is the perfect setting for inviting family and friends alike together for a relaxing evening outdoors. Upon completion, the client expressed how happy they were with the change. The balance of practicality and visual enjoyment increased their intellectual perception of their home's overall property worth and created a welcoming backyard retreat. The 491 House is yet another clear representation of Studio 342's ability to conceptualize, design, and build functional nightscaping landscape designs, while weaving in the particulars identified in our clients vision, to create a unique tailored experience for our client to enjoy without limits.
