Farm Spring Residence Situated in the beautiful landscape of Brownsboro Farm, the Farm Spring Residence , by Myers + Co. Landscape Architecture, showcases a thoughtfully designed response to the harmony between nature and design. The residential estate, which serves as a peaceful getaway for the homeowners, was precisely designed to create outdoor spaces for livability while connecting to the environment. The most notable design challenge was to create an engaging multi-layered garden on a sloping site. To achieve this, we used high-quality, local stone for the retaining walls, which terraced the site and provided not only structural integrity, but visual interest to the landscape overall. Native plant species were selected to ensure resilience and sustainability while increasing biodiversity and reducing maintenance. An impressive component of this is a custom-designed water feature that acts as the main attraction of the outdoor space. The water feature serves as a pond surrounded by lush ferns and ornamental grasses enticing people and wildlife alike to experience the calming effect. Paths of reclaimed wood and permeable pavers were used to encourage exploration and to direct runoff challenges. Outdoor entertaining was a major design consideration, resulting in a beautiful, expansive natural bluestone patio with an outdoor kitchen and fire pit. This space allows families and friends to gather together, as well as extend the home's living space to the outdoors throughout the entire season. The final product of the is an incredible landscape that aligns with the owner's request for elegance and natural beauty. Myers + Co.
