Bluestone | Long Island Landscape Designs Inc. Long Island Landscape Designs Inc. is very pleased to showcase the 'Bluestone' , a beautiful completed located on Long Island servicing the communities of Belle Terre, Port Jefferson and Smithtown. The end result was a beautiful marriage of landscapes and livable outdoor space. This also showcased a beautiful bluestone patio, precisely built to create a solid and visually appealing surface for family and outdoor entertainment. Every stone chosen by hand for its own color palette, from light grays to dark blues, providing a stunning contrast to the surrounding green foliage. We installed a line of raised garden beds constructed of pressure treated timber, which served to continue the look of the patio while providing the homeowners a place to plant their favorite herbs and flowers. One of the bigger problems with the Bluestone site was the topography, which can create drainage issues. Our expert team managed this by designing an ingenious grading system that diverted water runoff away from the patio and garden beds. This preserved the integrity of the landscaping and enhanced the interactivity of the space. Along with the hardscaping we introduced, we created a rich palette of native grasses and hardy perennials to lend both personality to the site and provide an abundance of noise-absorbing organic material that is not only low-maintenance but also beautiful. This sweetened the scenery with vibrant color and life, supporting local biodiversity. The end result was an outdoor sanctuary that was far above the client expectations. This aspect of materials, labor, design blended perfectly and manifested a that expressed the absolute pride of Long Island Landscape Designs Inc. The homeowners are very proud of their beautiful, usable outdoor space that is ideal for lounging and entertaining and truly represents Long Island living.
