Los Altos Hills 2015 Designed by Keith Willig Landscape Architecture, Inc., the Los Altos Hills 2015 exemplifies ideal landscape design in both beauty and functionality for outdoor spaces. Located amongst the lovely foothills, the includes a large residential estate, integrating native plants with contemporary design features that enhance the natural surroundings. The landscaping features an impressive plant selection with a palette of drought resistant species that are well-suited for the climate, providing ongoing sustainability while maximizing water savings. Local stone was equally used for terracing and pathways, supporting again the natural visual benefits as well as helping to meld the surrounding environment, and creating a smooth transition from the home to its landscape setting. The included challenges, as the property was sloped and required grading that ensured drainage, as well as stability. Our team completed a series of retaining walls that utilized natural stone. The walls effectively managed the slope while also providing a feature of interest in the garden. In the end, the yielded an extraordinary outdoor retreat with a tranquil water feature, desirable seating areas, and colorful gardens with blooms throughout the year. Additionally, outdoor fire lighting further augmented the landscape at night providing magic and inviting after-dark gatherings. The client was excited the design's merging of beauty, functionality, and sustainability relative to the .
