Dry Laid Stone Wall & Pillars by Village Stonesmith Gardens & Masonry At Village Stonesmith Gardens & Masonry, we create beautiful and imaginative outdoor spaces that harmonize with their natural environment. Our last commissioned a dry laid stone wall with accompanying stone pillars was the perfect opportunity to showcase our pride in craftsmanship while also creating something beautiful. Located in Greater New England, this featured locally sourced granite and fieldstone. Not only did this create a great finish, but it also connected with the rich geological history of the area. The design required thoughtful layout and planning, as we really wanted a that was meaningful not only in its function, but also in its beauty. Each stone was laid by hand and carefully chosen to create an organic flow and natural rhythm within the wall that is simply special I mean each stone is unique, why wouldn't it be celebrated! One of the greatest challenges we faced was the property's slope and uneven terrain. Our talented masons used advanced techniques to maintain a durable and sustainable wall while also respecting the terrain. Included in the design was a thought-out drainage plan to eliminate any potential water issues. In the end, the featured a stunning dry laid stone wall that beautifully curves with the property line, along with two solid stone pillars that stand sentry on either side. This introduced varying textures and colors in a way that really enhanced and welcomed the garden space - a perfect retreat for family gatherings and outdoor celebrations. The client was so happy with the finished . Not only was this dry laid stone wall a beautiful aesthetic element for her yard, it also enabled her to define spaces and create privacy. This was yet another example of Village Stonesmiths ability to add quality landscape solutions to our community and customers in Belmont, Boston, Cambridge and beyond.
