THE , ST.JAMES, NY. Another fine completed landscaping job by Long Island Landscape Designs Inc. in st. James, NY. This created a private retreat in a typical back yard by combining wonderful beauty and function. My well-coiffed crew painstakingly fashioned a multi-tiered terrace of rigorously burnished bluestone pavers to provide high-end practicality. A custom-built fire pit is nestled against verdant, native plantings to form a space for people to gather around. We also faced some clever grading and French drains to negotiate slope and drainage issues. In addition to the aesthetic contribution this made to the landscape, the feature also allowed for an appropriate means of water management to protect the hardscape and surrounding plants. The end result has a peaceful interplay of both nature and order, with planting beds full of colors, rocks marked in the right locations, and a light to bring out the image after the sun settles. The results received very positive feedback from our client who loved the new outdoor space and mentioned our great attention to detail and seamless incorporation of their vision for the site into the landscape.
