The Mollo Residence with Uncommon Gardens Located in the picturesque hills of Napa Valley, The Mollo Residence is a perfect example of the work we do at Uncommon Gardens. The outdoor area was designed and built as an enchanting retreat to complement the unique character of the natural landscape in American Canyon and the surrounding community. The had many great features, including the custom stone patio that respected the site’s topography. The durable, flagstone patio was made from durable, indigenous material to give a unique natural, rustic quality. In addition, the patio is surrounded by beautiful flower beds filled with indigenous plants that attract pollinators and do not require much care. The use of drought-resistant xeriscaping was not only beautiful but contributes to sustainability in the wine country climate. The posed many challenges, including an uneven site which necessitated innovative grading solutions to provide adequate drainage and accessibility. Our skilled team incorporated advanced techniques to contour the land that would not allow water runoff or erosion to occur while maintaining the site’s natural landscape. The was completed with a peaceful water feature, a koi pond, located in a shady nook of the property framed with ferns and ornamental grasses. The gentle roiling of water creates a peaceful atmosphere, for both the family and guests. The low, soothing sound is an escape, and when enhanced by lighting, the space becomes enchanting at night. The final result was more than a landscaped yard, it was a beautifully balanced outdoor escape that provided a great space for the Mollo family to gather and relax. In the end, it is one of the s we are proud of, and proves that Uncommon Gardens creates landscapes that enrich our clients’ lives while supporting environmental care.
