About This Project

Gee Residence, Hinsdale IL Landscaping at the Gee Residence completed by Myers + Co. Landscape Architecture embodies the refinements of transforming the outdoors into a peaceful retreat. The thoughtfully illustrates the relationships among nature, modern design, program elements, thoughtfully selected plants and planting design; of hardscape; and sustainable practices. The design employs native plants that contribute to ecological enhancement and stunning outcomes. A strong palette of perennials, grasses, and flowering shrubs were incorporated to ensure a dynamic yet cohesive landscape for four seasons of excitement. Quality materials, including stone sourced locally and reclaimed wood, accomplished both a sophisticated appearance and a durable finish. Another challenge of the site was the layout's slope. Our team was able to overcome this apparent barrier with a tiered garden approach that accommodated the sloping grade while providing some degree of separation with each layer for visual impact, accessibility, and drainage. The tiered garden not only addressed the steep slope, but also created levels of depth and dimension to the landscape. To complete the living experience of the outdoor space, an inviting patio area was formed using natural stone pavers, and included a custom fire pit and seating walls for a relaxed ambiance. This area provides the perfect surroundings for family and friends while also integrating into the natural gardens. Taking all of this into account, we produced a stunning landscape representative of the client's value while remaining true to Myers + Co. and the quality and craftsmanship we offer. The final product is a vibrant garden oasis that celebrates the in terms of color, texture, and movement, alongside the mission of sustainability. The joy and satisfaction at seeing the spaces permeated with the family of the home, is the greatest testament to the beauty of the work!
