Fun Bungalow in Atlanta, GA Completed By: Tilting Windmill Landscape Design In the colorful core of Atlanta is a residential called "Fun Bungalow," demonstrating the clear talent and skills of Tilting Windmill Landscape Design. We were asked to take a quaint bungalow-style home and create a garden escape that is playful but sophisticated, based on the client's wish for a fun gathering space for family and friends. The began with an extensive review of the current landscape, which posed several considerations. There were also challenges to overcome with a space that wasn't completely flat, and sunlight was limited in some locations. Using thoughtful design, our knowledgeable team implemented a multi-level garden, with natural stone retaining walls that provide effective definition for areas that reuse space and aesthetics. Using a variety of plants that are native to the climate in Atlanta, it is our goal to create a sustainable and low-maintenance garden. Bright azaleas, fragrant gardenias, and growing grasses filled the garden area. The pathway consisted of permeable pavers that allowed for drainage and created an upscale look. A highlight of the was the custom firepit design, surrounded by a cozy seating area made from reclaimed wood for evening conversation. To set the mood, we designed the lighting to accent the space with soft outdoor sources, and a warm approach to the lighting makes a cozy feel. The final result is a combination of colors, textures, and uses of space to create a delightful garden atmosphere. The client was thrilled with the outcome and especially appreciated our attention to detail in covering several elements into one . This transformed the home's aesthetics, while changing the outdoor experience into a sustainable natural escape, and elegantly supported the souther lifestyle of Atlanta living.
