SAN JUAN RESIDENCE 2 LandStudio is honored to showcase the renovation of the SAN JUAN RESIDENCE 2, a gorgeous landscape exemplifying our principles of quality and thoughtful design. Tucked in the heart of Coconut Grove, the residence combines the natural beauty of South Florida with a more enhanced approach to the residence's landscape. At the site, our team completed a thorough site assessment and took into consideration that the terrain was uneven and some locations had no sun. We knew there would be solutions to these situations. The team came up with planting a variety of native plants along with species that are drought resistant. This ensured a responsible landscape and added spectacular color. Landscape elements include lush tropical gardens, stone pathways, and a small water feature that serves as a focal point. The intention of the feature was to have it double as a space for relaxation and meditation. High-grade materials supported the practice of utilitarian durability and usefulness while fostering a pleasant visual impact. For the patio and pathways we used coral stone that would be natural stone that is sourced locally. Additionally, coral stone allows for a non-slip surface that supports coastal living. Sparish landscaped areas were complimented by trellises that were custom made to foster the growth of climbing plants and also provide a defined space for seating. The seating creates vertical elevation and invites fresh air in harmony with the warmth of the Miami sun. One feature that we are very proud of is the features provided for the outdoor lighting enhancements. Low-voltage LED fixtures were placed strategically to highlight the abundant plantings and architecture from the residence, creating stunning views from all angles. An attention to lighting was used to accommodate considerations for safety as well as beauty. As we do s, LandStudio is always engaged with the concerns of erosion control in soils and water drainage control. Knowing that one day, each of these landscape characteristics happens, we worked with the home owners and took time to discuss and work together with solutions they agreed to. One great example was the installation of a rain garden that accommodates excess water, but often enriches the surrounding ecosystem as well. The ultimate efforts offer abundant natural forms and design that the clients stated that they love. The SAN JUAN RESIDENCE 2 now showcases a bold garden area that allows for butterflies and birds to visit, a peaceful gathering area, and achieved a wow impact on the overall improvement on the property value.
