Glen Valley by Seedlings Landscape Design Build Located in the heart of Texas, Glen Valley by Seedlings Landscape Design Build is an incredible application of creativity and precision in landscape architecture. Serving the active communities of Austin, Barton Creek, Bear Creek, Bee Cave, Lost Creek, Manchaca, Rollingwood, Sunset Valley, and West Lake Hills, Glen Valley demonstrates our commitment to transforming our clients' backyards from simple lawns to breathtaking outdoor spaces we call retreats. The Glen Valley landscape is a satisfying blend of native Texas plants that are carefully diagnosed to thrive in the local climate and enhance biodiversity. Our team fulfilled the stakeholders' vision of perennial flower beds, drought-resistant shrubs, and ornamental grasses, which drew from an invigorating palette of colors and textures that are superbly manifested in light and shade, and evolve through the growing season. The natural stone paths are compellingly aesthetic, yet practical, as they traverse the lush garden and promote the client’s interaction with nature and exploration of the Glen Valley site. The steep hills of the site presented several challenges during our work on the Glen Valley , especially drainage and erosion. Our landscape architecture team employed terrace systems by naturally constructing walls using authentic, local limestone, and filling those terraces with native plant materials to help stabilize the soils in a complimentary manner. This multi-layered approach was equally visually compelling with the depth and arrangement of plants to enrich the surface condition of the site. In addition to the plethora of native plants and the site’s slopes and topography, we manufactured a serene water feature with a cascading waterfall that blends and resonates with nature. The water feature not only contributes sound to the outdoor space, but also attracts wildlife and deepens the client's bond to their environment. The Glen Valley resulted in a very happy client and a sustainable landscape space expanding out from their back door containing the qualities of various native plants, and active ecology that compliments their home. Glen Valley is an example of the many and craft work we contribute to spaces where it is our honor to have a role in the design process, and to serve our clients with spaces we hope nourish, inspire, and realize their life experience.
