About This Project

Modern: Vista Meadow ‘Modern: Vista Meadow’ is the finished product of a planting and landscape renovation undertaken by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects located in the North Dallas area. This utilizes modern platform and materials to merge the indoor and outdoor spaces. Our design team created a welcoming, inviting site that fosters conversation without undermining the existing architecture served up to it. The center of the landscape is a large kelly green lawn that gently undulates and is surrounded (in widely dispersed pockets) by native planting that adds to biodiversity and has very little upkeep. We used sustainable materials that are installed high quality level. The materials include patio hardscaping that is a modern multi-leveled patio surface for lounging and entertainment that uses local stone. We had a bit of a challenge with the grading of the site. The site was uneven and required some creative grading for the landscape to function properly and look good. We were able to work with this challenge by installing terraced garden beds to create interest and dwelling space for colorful perennial blooms throughout the seasons. Another element installed to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability is a distributed irrigation system. This system allows lush plantlife to be watered effectively and efficiently, while substantially lessening waste. The end product (a landscape d ‘Modern: Vista Meadow’) creates a beautiful landscape to increase property value and ultimately is a relaxing getaway for the family. They could not be happier to combine modern day landscaping with natural landscaping.
