BARKMAN LANDSCAPING INC. successfully completed the 'Basement Walk Out Patio' in the heart of Davison, MI, which turned an empty space into an inviting outdoor paradise. The began by creating a flow of space from the lower level of the home to the backyard, improving both accessibility and visual appeal. The design involved plenty of space for entertaining, utilizing high-end pavers that withstand all types of weather conditions, durable, and offered a contemporary, elegant look. In addition, natural stone was incorporated for the retaining walls to distinguish the space and provide stability for the sloping landscape. The choice of native plant aesthetics surrounding the patio not only offers color, but also benefits for wildlife and requires very little maintenance for the family. One of the challenges for the site was the elevation changes; our team was able to overcome this hurdle by implementing tiered landscaping. The tiered landscaping served dual purposes by helping with drainage and providing a visually appealing layered effect. As a team, we made sure that every detail from the drainage to the lighting was done well. In the end, the finished the home owner was absolutely thrilled with. The space has become an ideal outdoor living area for hosting groups, even dinner, with ample seating by the patio and lighting to keep the fun going long into the night.
