About This Project

Chesapeake Backyard by Premiere Landscape Design Snug in the center of Chesapeake, Premiere Landscape Design worked on this stunning backyard that turned a plain, bland, outdoor space into a tranquil oasis. The team started by working through the client's wants/needs. They wanted a multifunctional space to relax and entertain. To create a welcoming atmosphere, we laid an immaculate stone patio out of premium Bluestone pavers that offer a long lasting and aesthetically captivating surface to hold events and host family/friends. We then designed garden beds framing the patio with native VA plantings including colored azaleas and gardenias that fill the air with a sweet fragrance as well as add color, and beckon in the local fauna. There were a few challenges with the back yard including uneven terrain and drainage issues, which we addressed with our grading system as well as a French drain to help divert water on the property. This adds to the sustainability of the site and will help eliminate the erosion issues in the future. Along with the patio and gardens, the team added a pergola which was handmade for this space. This will serve as a great shaded area for outdoor dining and prior to prepping the space, we pre-wired outdoor landscape lighting to be used after dusk to enhance safety and enjoyment. The end result was an aesthetically pleasing experience that served purposed functionality needed to meet the client’s wants/needs. The Chesapeake backyard turned into a lively, inviting space to gather with family, as well as an escape for evenings enjoyed at home.
