Grandridge Residence - Issaquah, WA At Studio 342 Landscape Architecture, we take pride in creating outdoor spaces that define stunning retreats, and the recently completed Grandridge Residence in Issaquah, WA, exemplifies this ethos. Within the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest, the included a thoughtful redesign of the residential landscape for better usability and aesthetics. The grand entry offers a finely crafted stone pathway in locally harvested basalt that seamlessly connects the outdoor space to the natural landscape. Visitors are welcomed by lush layered plantings of native species that are resilient and bring seasonal interest. An exquisite composition of perennials and ornamental grasses were used in order to bring color and texture to the property, no matter the season. Significant site challenges included the slope of the property, which was creatively addressed with terraced gardens. The terracing functioned to mitigate erosion, but also created distinct planting beds. Each terrace was designed with natural boulders that frame the plantings and enhance the organic aesthetic while offering stability. A sustainable irrigation system was also utilized to specially conserve water while maintaining a lush garden. To enrich the experience outdoors, a custom patio area was created using high-quality, weather-resistant composite decking. The space connects the indoor of the home to the outdoor perfectly for both hosting and quiet remain. With properly located outdoor light fixtures, the patio creates a welcoming space in the evening to highlight the surrounding landscape. At the end of the , an outdoor environment was completed that exceeded the expectation of the client.
